Post-Stop™ Epistaxis Catheter Procedure Pack
The Post-Stop™ is a single-balloon epistaxis catheter with an integral suction/irrigation feature designed for control of posterior bleeding. As a packing, it can be used during septoplasty, rhinoplasty, and other intra-nasal surgical procedures to aid in the control of fluid aspiration. For epistaxis, the balloon controls posterior bleeding.
The included syringe is used to expand the balloon with normal saline. The volume of saline injected determines the ultimate size and pressure of the balloon.
The result is a controlled, uniform pressure to manage bleeding. The multi-port suction/irrigation feature can be used to keep the nasal area clear and to help prevent the catheter from clogging. An internal guide wire is included to help direct the catheter into the posterior chamber and is removed after catheter placement.
